Hi, new to the forum.

I've had the new Astra now for about 5 months. In yellow, Ultimate trim.

So yesterday i was driving home and about half way through my journey the sat nav on my drivers screen started acting a bit funny, the road layout disappeared followed by the arrow. Didn't think much to it at the time, just thought it was a bug, so carried on that's when i noticed my indicators weren't making any sound. Ok that's weird, got home turned the car off. Left it for an hour and came back, switched the car on and both screens were dead, the heads up display dead, indicator sound was back but it sounded different to what it usually does.

The car still drives but obviously with no screens you can't see your speed and other info.

Anyone else had an issue like this?

Update: Issue found. A mouse has chewed through my electrical system. Ah the benefits of living in the countryside.

2nd Update: Took the car into the dealership. While the mouse damaged the engine cover, it didn't touch the wires. But they confirmed the car has a major system bug which killed the screens, they had another Astra in with the same problem. Got to wait for Vauxhall to release a system patch. No ETA on that.

Had this problem a few times recently with main screen blank & indicators not clicking. Drivers screen remained on though. Getting out , locking car then unlocking & re-starting solved the problem. Car is booked in for first service & diagnostic check as this is just one of problems I am having
Car has never been right since dealer managed to corrupt CPU during update (having had my car for over 3 weeks to do it) Replaced under warranty together with new 12v battery which they also managed to kill. Complained to Vauxhall about their incompetence but they were not interested
Needless to say booked in with another dealer this time
Waiting to see if they manage to fix all the problems as if not car will be being sold. Having spent almost £35k I did not expect to have so many niggly problems with it

That's really disappointing in a new car

Car still at the dealership.

Auto electrician was given an update file by Vauxhall, he applied it and the system crashed straight away.

Hello,

Has this issue been fixed or a cause identified?

I'm having a similar intermittent issue (Astra L GS line 1.2 hatchback, 72 plate). My infotainment system and dash randomly went blank and restarted itself while on the motorway at the start of Jan. As everything came back on, I thought nothing of it. However, a couple of weeks ago, it did it again while sitting in traffic but this time the dash didn't come back on, so I had no speedo and the indicator sound was different. I've since found out by calling Vauxhall customer services there are two outstanding recalls on the car (this is post its first service in Oct, where they applied 2 others), one of the outstanding recalls is a vehicle supervisor module update. I wonder/hope this will fix the issue but no one will confirm that.

Nope, it's still at the dealership. They've had a specialist come twice to apply a system update and both times it's crashed the system straight away.

Mines on lease so i'm thinking about officially handing the car back.
